You can hide veges in this pie and no one will ever know, the rich sauce and meat combo along with carrot and courgette create the best flavour. Its actually better the next day reheated for lunch or dinner, it also makes a fanastic work lunch if you have the ability to reheat it.
- 1 packet of mince
- 1 grated courgette
- 1 grated carrot
- 1 can Watties mexican tomatoes
- 1 packet Maggi cottage pie mix
- 1 packet Watties hash bites
- Grated cheese
Brown the mince breaking up any clumps, once browned add the grated carrot and courgette until the carrot changes colour slightly. Mix the tomatoes and maggi packet in a small jug or something you have for mixing, then pour into the pan and simmer for a couple of minutes.
Pour into a greased dish and top with hash bites and if you want to add some grated cheese. Bake at 200 degrees for 30 minutes then serve.
If reheating I give it a quick blast in the microwave for 4 minutes then put it in the oven for 15 minutes at 180 degrees. James takes it to work in his warmer and it reheats perfectly and tastes amazing!
